International food aid meant for victims of flooding in Niger has been stolen, Niger's interior minister says."We have information that aid is being diverted to other places, that is, not to the victims of the flooding," Rooters quoted Niger's minister of the interior and public security, Abdou Labo, as saying on Saturday.
"At several of the sites where we are housing displaced people, we have determined that the food aid and the products (sent there) did not arrive in their entirety", he added.
He further argued that those who had stolen emergency food aid, organized by the United Nations

, would be put on trial.
Earlier reports in late August said that six weeks of floods, triggered by torrential rains, killed at least 52 people in Niger.
