[Ma'an] An Egyptian policeman was injured on Friday after being stabbed in the northern Sinai city of el-Arish, security sources said.The assailant knifed the officer several times. Security officials said the officer was transferred to the city hospital.
They believe the attacker is affiliated to one of the Jihadi groups operating in the Sinai peninsula.
Egyptian security forces have waged a security campaign in the desert Sinai region to reign in hard boy groups, after 16 Egyptian border guards were killed in an attack on their post in August.
