Security Forces, Gunmen Clash In North Sinai

[Ma'an] Clashes broke out on Monday between Egyptian security forces and gunnies in north Sinai, Egyptian security sources said.
Good thing Mursi moved all those tanks into the Sinai. Who knows what the gunnies might have done otherwise...
Two cars without number plates drove past a security checkpoint in north Sinai and opened fire on Egyptian forces, sources told Ma'an.

Police fired back at the gunnies, who expeditiously departed at a goodly pace. No injuries were reported.

Security forces announced a state of high alert in the Sinai peninsula.

Egyptian security forces have waged a security campaign in the desert Sinai region to reign in thug groups, after 16 Egyptian border guards were killed in an attack on their post in August.
