US embassy security chief gunned down in Yemen
2012-10-11
Qassem Aqlani, the Yemeni head of security at the US embassy in Sanaa, was gunned down by motorcycle gunman on way to work. Aqlani had been working there for nearly 20 years.

Radio Netherlands reports:

A US diplomat said Aqlan was in charge of coordinating a US and Yemeni probe into an attack on the embassy last month by protesters angry over an anti-Islam film that triggered a wave of deadly demonstrations across the Muslim world.

#5  Another site said he was a Foriegn Service National Investigator. As such, he would have worked for the RSO. Doubtful he "running" the investigation but was a vital link to the Yemeni authorities.

#3  There's been some conflict whether he was in charge of a team, the entire security, or just a grunt at the front gate. Given how it would look we won't know until after the election.
