| Khamenei: US, Zionists pit one Muslim against another to preempt uprisings |

| The Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused the United States and Israel of encouraging divisions among Moslems to preempt uprisings in the Middle East. In his annual message to Iranians performing the Hajj pilgrimage, Khamenei said: "By exploiting apathyÂ…the United States, NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and organization.... and Zionists are trying undo the harmony between young Moslems; to pit them against each other under the name of Islam."
