A Yemeni intelligence officer has been killed by two gunmen who shot him as they drove by on a motorcycle, according to the country's Defence Ministry on Saturday.Officer Mutei Baqutian was killed near his office in the south-eastern city of Mukalla, reported the 26 September website, which is affiliated with the Defence Ministry and quotes its news releases, dpa reported.
Earlier this month, a senior intelligence official was killed in the same city. The government has blamed al-Qaeda militants for such attacks.
