The TTP Darra Adamkhel faction said that Tariq 'Gidar' was replaced by his close associate, Muhammad Arif 'Kaka' who belonged to the one of Darra Adamkhel's tribes.TTP front man Ehsanullah Ehsan while talking to Dawn.com declined to confirm or deny the incident at the moment. When questioned about Tariq Afridi's front man, Mohammad, Ehsan said that he was 'no more' indicating that he had died a few days earlier.
Intelligence sources also confirmed that Tariq Afridi, the leader of the TTP's Tariq Afridi group, had died but added that there were two versions regarding his death.
