The number of US submarines deployed to the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman has reached five with the dispatch of the USS Springfield (SSN-761) to the region, Press TV reported.
The United Kingdom has also deployed HMS Trenchant, a Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarine, to the Sea of Oman. | |

#3 As per VARIOUS, the USN Base at bahrain will be affected by the sequestration cuts - the Subs are a good thing as the USDOD has said the Japan-based USS GEORGE WASHINGTON [+ CVBG] are likely to be the ONE-N-ONLY US NUCLEAR CARRIER + BG the US may deply in any overseas or international crisis = crises, espec the longer the mandated sequester cuts go on. As things stand at present, the USDOD will prefer the "GEORGE" stay near the China-Japan crisis in NE Asia. |

#1 OTOH BIGNEWSNETWORK > TOP US COMMANDER WARNS IRAN AGZ TESTING ITS RESOLVE IN GULF. Methinks the good ADM. should be talking squarely to CHINA oer in NE Asia, but because China is Nuke-armed decides to defer to Iran instead??? |
