| [Pak Daily Times] A court here on Saturday convicted a person accused for blasphemy by sentencing him to life imprisonment. The first Additional District and Sessions Judge Ajlal Hyder Memon pronouced the verdict under sections 295-A and 295-B of the blasphemy law against Jalal Chandio. Chandio was accused of burning a copy of the Holy Quran in his house in Jathia Mohala area of Tando Adam, Sanghar district, in the year 2001. A religious leader of the area, Allama Ahmed Mian Hamadi, was the complainant in the case which was lodged in B-section police station of Tando Adam. |
