Israel Says Foiled Islamist Attacks in West Bank |

[An Nahar] Israel's Shin Bet domestic spy agency said on Tuesday it had foiled planned attacks on Israelis by two Paleostinian Islamist groups in the Hebron area. It said that, in March, Shin Bet, army and police uncovered a nine-man Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, cell in the village of Bani Naim, south of the West Bank city, which planned to shoot dead an Israeli settler working in nearby fields. A statement said the men intended to take the victim's corpse as a bargaining chip to secure the release of Paleostinian prisoners held by Israel.
