[Al Ahram] The corpse count resulting from festivities in Egypt's Nile Delta city of Tanta on Friday, between supporters and opponents of deposed president Mohamed Morsi, has risen to two as another died on Saturday from severe injuries, reported the Middle East News Agency (MENA). The first casualty was reported on Friday. General Hatem Othman, security director of Gharbiya governorate, where Tanta is located, said that the identity of one of those killed is still unknown. The other has been confirmed as Mohamed Abdullah , who is believed to have been a Morsi loyalist. At least 25 were maimed when violence broke out in the city as pro-Morsi demonstrators erupted into the streets against what they describe as a 'coup' against Egypt's first democratically-elected president. |
