Algeria deploys additional border troops |

[MAGHAREBIA] Algeria deployed 3,000 more soldiers along the borders with Tunisia and Libya, L'Expression reported on Saturday (September 7th). The decision reportedly followed last Tuesday's meeting of President Abdelaziz ![]() ... 10th president of Algeria. He was elected in 1999 and is currently on his third or fourth term, who will probably die in office of old age... with Army Chief of Staff Major General Ahmed Gaid Salah. In August, Prime Minister Abdelmalik Sellal admitted that the security situation in Algeria was sensitive. "Algeria is now living in the middle of a volcano," he said during a visit to the Jijel province in reference to the security situation along the country's southern and eastern borders. |
