| Baghdad market bombings kill at least 23 |

 At least 23 people were killed by bombs left inside busy markets on Thursday in mainly Sunni Muslim districts of Baghdad.The deadliest attack took place in Saba'a al-Bour on Baghdad's northern outskirts, where three bombs killed at least 15 people. In the Doura district in the southern part of the capital, a bomb exploded in another market, killing at least eight people. |

| #4 The hope at one time (at least on my part) was that Saddam had secularized these people to the point where democracy might actually work in Iraq. Some may have hoped that democracy would work in spite of the religion. Now it seems that Iraq is devolving into an Arab version of Pakistan, Afghanistan or Somalia. They can't seem to help themselves. When do we start running pictures of Saddam with captions that read "Miss me yet?". Will that be when Mookie al-Sadr takes over. |
