Kerry Warns: Assad re-Election Would Extend Syria War |
2013-10-22 |
[An Nahar] U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday that any attempt by Syrian leader Bashar Assad to be re-elected would extend the country's civil war. "If he thinks he's going to solve problems by running for re-election, I can say to him, I think that certainly this war will not end as long as that's the case that he's there," Kerry said after talks with Arab League officials in Paris. |

#13 See also STARS-N-STRIPES > KERRY EAGER TO BREAK ASSAD STRANGLEHOLD ON SYRIA. * INDIAN DEFENCE FORUM > RADICALS MAY SHIFT TO EUROPE FROM SYRIA: NATO [SecGen Rasmussen]. In addition, the MSM-Net is also repor that there are more active Militants, including Foreign, in Syria than was in Afghanistan during the 1980's anti-Soviet war. The only rationale for the US-Allies to get rid of Baby Assad is that the former desires a wholly controlled, de facto "yes man" in charge of the country, not a partial or independent. OTOH TOPIX, DEFENCE.PK/FORUMS > WEST SLOWLY BELIEVES ISLAMISTS CAPABLE OF [Secular or Liberal = semi-Western] UPHOLDING DEMOCRACY, albeit wid Islamic-Sharia characteristics. The Maha-Rushian questionne' du jour is, IFF NOT BABY ASSAD, WHOM IS THE US-ALLIES' MIGHTY DEMOCRATIST TO TAKE POWER FROM ASSAD IN SYRIA + FIGHT AL-QAEDA, ETAL. FOREIGN MILITANTS??? AND * DEFENCE.PK/FORUMS > [Al-Jazeera] IRAN-US RECONCILIATION PART OF A BIGGER PICTURE. * SAME > DAILY KOS: US CUTS OFF AID TO SYRIAN REBELS. Mainly because the anti-Assad "Syrian Rebels", e.g. FSA are now abandoning their former US-West backers, + merging or joining wid Al-Qaeda affiliate groups. * INDIAN DEFENCE FORUM > SYRIA: LIKE IT OR NOT, WE HAVE TO TALK WID BASHAR AL-ASSAD. * TOPIX > RISING AL-QAIDA INFLUENCE BOLSTERING ASSAD'S GRIP ON SYRIA. * SAME > ASSAD GROWS MORE CONFIDENT IN SYRIA. [MONTY PYTHON'S "LIFE OF BRIAN" > ROMAN CENTURION AT "CRUCIFIXION" = [IIRC = paraph] "ALL THOSE WHOM DO NOT WANT TO BE CRUCIFIED NEXT TO THE NON-KOSHER, ALLEGED MESSIAH BRIAN RAISE YOUR RIGHT HAND ... ... ... [no one] RIGHT THEN, ITS UNANIMOUS, HE STAYS"!] |

#10 Bloviating buffoonery. What the hell is the alternative to Assad? Does Kerry think if Assad steps down they'll have utopia and a "hands across Syria" type event? I can say to him, I think with certainty that this war will not end as long as foreign fighters and jiahadists remain on Syrian soil. |

#4 It's gotten to the point that anytime I see something to do with a US politician I proceed to the nearest exit. Is there anywhere to go once you've reached the abyss of total despair and disgust? 8^( |

#1 The alternative to Baby Assad + new BFF Iran is for Bad US-Global Econ, Sequester, Shutdown + post-Shutdown hit Bammer Amerika to put US troops on the ground in Syria + elsewhere. Which as I recall correctly POTUS Bammer promised to bring US Troops home as part of his re-election campaigns. |
