#10  You can bet when he does shuffle off this mortal coil the media and pols will be all weepy-eyes for the passing of a 'great statesman and leader'.

#8   I thought you were announcing his death. Rats

I almost feel bad for laughing at this. Almost...

#7  That's why I came to this page, JFM - same hope as you.

#5  He was always detail oriented (as in personally handling the WH tennis court schedule). Tough and no nonsense? Not so much.

I also can not find any reference to any submarine he actually commanded.

Jimmy is proof that a high IQ and book learning do not make an effective executive.

#4  I don't think he was ever a nuke boat commander. I think his career was cut short because of his involvement in the cleanup of the Chalk River Laboratories partial meltdown, and got exposed to a lifetime quota of nuclear reactor. In reaction to this he apparently decided that we should all wear sweaters instead.

Which provides absolutely nothing to the people who need power to actually make stuff. Which is why we import stuff instead of making it, and await the inevitable collapse.

#3  Actually, Jimmah was a nuke boat commander under Admiral Rickover. That means Jimmah, at one time, was a tough, no nonsense detail oriented naval officer.

I don't know what happened to him when he went down on the farm and ran for governor, but when he was elected, we in the government expected a tough no nonsense kinda guy but we got a micromanaging air head.

The fact that he is criticizing Obumble speaks volumes about how far Obumble has fallen even within his own party.

#2  Carter is proof positive that prior military service does not necessarily yield command competence. Wasnt he a teakettle watcher?
