| Bogra teacher stabbed to death by Jamaat men |

| [Bangla Daily Star] A college teacher was stabbed to death allegedly by Jamaat-Shibir men in Bogra town on Monday night. Ziauddin Zakaria Babu, lecturer of Sherpur Degree College, was the joint convener of Bogra district unit of Sector Commanders' Forum, and one of the organisers of Gonojagoron Mancha in the district. Babu, who hails from Gokul area under Sadar upazila in the district, was living in Shibbati area of the town. Police said a gang of criminals riding two to three cycle of violences had assaulted Babu in Chokjadu Road area of the town around 9:20pm. As he fell to the ground, the criminals slashed him mercilessly in the face, leaving him dead on the spot. They then blasted at least six crude bombs and escaped the scene. An employee of a hotel, Abdul Kafi, sustained injuries in the kaboom. Nazir Ahmad Khan, senior assistant superintendent of police (A Circle) of the district, said police had sent the body to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for his appointment with Doctor Quincy. Injured Kafi was also taken to the hospital. |
