Widow of murdered Canadian teacher publishes letter forgiving killers
2013-12-20
[Libya Herald] The widow of Canadian teacher Ronnie Smith, who murdered in Benghazi earlier this month, has forgiven her husband's killers in an open letter addressed to the Libyan people.

"Ronnie Smith loved the Libyan people," Anita Smith said. "We came to Libya because we saw the suffering of the Libyan people, but also your hope, and we wanted to partner with you to build a better future." She added that Ronnie had been a "best friend" to Libya.

Ronnie Smith, aged 33, was rubbed out on 5 December while he was out jogging in Benghazi's Digadosta district. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the murder.

Addressing the killers of her husband, Smith said: "I love you and forgive you."

Although friends and family had voiced safety concerns about the Canadian couple living in Benghazi, Smith said they stayed because they believed the Libyan people were worth the risk. She added that Ronnie had loved his students at Benghazi International School where he worked as a chemistry teacher.

"I hear people speaking with hate, anger and blame over Ronnie's death, but that's not what he would want," she said, adding that he would want his death to be an opportunity for people to show one another love and forgiveness.

#6  She ain't no true Canuckistanian. She's probably an import, or a non-checking hockey player or a wimp from Tarunna. She ain't no - damn but this Irish whiskey is good stuff!

#5  'Addressing the killers of her husband, Smith said: "I love you and forgive you."'

The killers have not been arrested, so they're still posing a direct and immediate threat.

The killers have not apologized, they're unrepentant.

If she truly loves those unrepentant murderers whom she has totally forgiven would she assist them in the commission of further murder?

One is supposed to lend a helping hand to 'beloved friends' isn't one?

This moral preening is turning the widow objectively into an enabler if not accomplice of her husbands murderers.

Even Jesus said 'Sin no more!'
Does she exhort the murderers to stop their vice which is anything but victimless?

#4  Elois in an ocean of Morlocks, with one difference - the Elois here do all the work, yet end up on the dinner table.

#3  We came to Libya because we saw the suffering of the Libyan people,

But we couldn't connect the dots that they were suffering because they form a culture that wallows in the mindless violence of Islam, and that that culture is the swamp that breeds the type of creatures that murdered Ronnie.

#2  As much as the victim industry will try to portray Anita as the 'victim', the real victim was Ronnie. Only Ronnie could truly 'forgive', however in the case of murder, that is only possible on the 'other side'.
