Israel unmoved by reports that US, UK intelligence spied on Olmert, Barak in 2009 |

Israel has refused to issue an official reaction to the revelations made public by The Guardian on Friday regarding American and British surveillance of former prime minister Ehud Olmert and ex-defense minister Ehud Barak in 2009. Unnamed officials in Jerusalem, however, told Channel 2 on Friday that they "did not fall off their chairs" when hearing the news, which was first reported by The Guardian and The New York Times, that British and American intelligence agents were tracking the emails of Olmert and Barak. |

#2 Well, the Europeans and Brazilians and others always discuss Zero's transgressions in terms of "...and to make things better the United States must disarm in the face of all the Islamic and other totalitarian movements in the world..." I suspect most Israelis a) know they can't afford US disarmament even if they don't like the shit Zero pulls, b) don't have strong emotional attachments to Russian or Pakistani totalitarianism or imperialism, and c) remember losing millions of people in the days before they were a country because (among many other reasons) "Gentlemen do not read each other's mail." Zero's an asshole but gentlemen can go fuck themselves. |
