| 31 defendants sentenced in Nile City violence |

| [Egypt Independent] On Wednesday, Cairo Criminal Court sentenced two defendants to life in prison, seven defendants to 10 years with labor and another 22 suspects to seven years. All of them were convicted for being involved in Nile City violence. They were convicted with thuggery, possessing weapons and resisting authorities. The court also cleared another 22 suspects. The incident took place in August 2012 when an alleged criminal died during an attack on the Nile City towers. The administration said that the victim was demanding them to pay royalties in order to avoid the break in. |
