According to wiki, nearly 1/5 citizens of Philidelphia were Indentured Servants prior to the Revolutionary War, and a tidbit about how Indentured Servants were treated worse than slaves, as they were short term investments vs. long term investments. I would hazard to guess that the release of an intured servant could also potentially create an economic competitor as the skills gained would be directly from the (former) master's trade. |

What's the matter Michelle, you afraid they will not stay dependent upon the government, and the might escape the plantation fields and mess up the plantation system where you and the other house negroes live it up with your masters (Soros, Valajar, etc) in the big White House?
