KOHAT: A Shia leader and administrator of an imambargah was shot dead in Kohat on Friday. According to Sadar Police Station SHO Iqbal, unidentified armed men shot dead Sher Muhammad Tori at Gari Nawaz Khan Chowk when he was going to local courts. The body was moved to a nearby hospital while the attackers escaped. Police have registered an FIR and started investigation. Sher Muhammad Tori hailed from Kurram Agency.
Separately, a low-intensity bomb exploded outside a shop in restive Matani area in the wee hours of Friday. However, no loss of life was reported. Police said that the bomb was planted at a shop in restive Matani area and no casualty was reported because nobody was present at the shop at the time of explosion. The Mathani police rushed to the spot and started investigation.
