Bomb kills QWP leader, three others in Buner
2014-02-24
[Pak Daily Times] A roadside kaboom targeting a local leader of a political party in the country's northwest killed three people and maimed two others on Saturday, police said. Police said the incident took place in Buner district when the remote-controlled bomb hit the vehicle of Adalat Khan, a local leader of Qaumi Watan Party, killing him along with two associates. "Adalat Khan and his two associates have been killed. Two others in the car were critically injured," Asif Iqbal, a senior police official told AFP. No myrmidon group grabbed credit for the attack, but a local intelligence official told AFP that Khan had supported an anti-Taliban village militia in 2009. The head of that militia was later killed in a suicide kaboom in November 2012. Police and Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) reached the site of kaboom and cordoned off the area. The BDU later declared the area clear of any other bomb. The injured and bodies were moved to a nearby hospital. Separately, a suspected terrorist was killed in a kaboom in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
