Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Wednesday that formation of a quadrilateral front comprising Iran, Qatar, Turkey and Iraq on Syria is totally out of question, IRNA reported. He strongly ruled out involvement of Iran, Qatar, Turkey and Iraq to form a four-nation team to study the Syrian crisis and said Iran believes the crisis in Syria must be resolved through political means. Iran and Qatar are of the opinion that Syrian crisis has not any military solution, Zarif said. Zarif said that the two countries believe that war in Syria could not be prolonged and that the Syrian people must make decision on their own fate. He said that Iran and Qatar must help the Syrian people end the humanitarian crisis adding that the Syrian issue has brought Iran and Qatar together.
Zarif said that the two sides also discussed issues of mutual interest along with regional developments. To help enhance the level of cooperation between the two countries, Qatar deputy foreign minister is to visit Tehran in the near future, he said.
