#5 From what I can recall, there was an undisclosed 'dispute' between Blue Mountain and the State Department. I don't remember whether or not it was with the "Tripoli office". |

#1 The cable also reflected a grave concern among officials on the ground that the Libyan militia charged with protecting the consulate had been compromised, perhaps even infiltrated by extremists. One of the many downsides of contracted, host-nation security. Apparently, no one has yet to solicit comment from the UK's Blue Mountain security firm Program Manager. Yes, that's the bloke who unassed, and flew back to London a few days prior to the attack. |
