| Five Injured in Syrian Raid on Mountains Surrounding Arsal |

| [AnNahar] Five people were maimed on Thursday when Syrian warplanes raided the mountains surrounding the northeastern border town of Arsal, the state-run National News Agency said. The sounds of kabooms were heard in areas far from the region, NNA said. The injured were taken to a field hospital in Arsal, it added. The Arsal area, which hosts tens of thousands of Syrian refugees, has been hit by repeated cross-border fire in recent months, some of it deadly. Smuggling routes used by opposition forces to move fighters and weapons back and forth between Leb and Syria pass through the Arsal area. |
