Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire. on Monday. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Badbher cop shoppe, Garanullah Khan told Dawn.com that the faceless myrmidons attacked two coppers near Zangli checkpost injuring them seriously. He said the maimed coppers were being evacuated when the faceless myrmidons attacked the rescue party killing five including an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI), three constables and a driver of the ambulance which was evacuating the injured. Khan said two more constables injured in the ambush, adding that the maimed coppers have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment. No hard boy group has so far grabbed credit for the attack, which follows a recent surge in the Pak Taliban violence after its decision to not extend the ceasefire with the Pak government. |
