| [Nigerian Tribune] Shocked by the delay in the release of the over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State, by leader of the proscribed Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... sect, Abubakar Shekau, Islamic holy mans resident in the United States of America have called for the immediate freedom of the girls. This was contained in a letter written to Shekau and made available to Sunday Tribune. It was signed by the Supreme Council of Moslem Organisations Zaytuna College Washington, DC Berkeley; Imam Sheikh Jamal Said; Imam Sheikh Kifah Mustapha; The Mosque Foundation, Bridgeview, IL Bridgeview; Dr. Hatem Bazian; American Moslems for Paleostine; Council on American-Islamic Relations ... the Moslem Brüderbund's American arm ... ; Islamic Circle of North America; Khalil Meek W. Deen Mohammed II; Moslem Legal Fund of America The Mosque Cares, Dallas, TX reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,... , IL; Mahtabuddin Ahmed Hussein Ata, among others. According to them, "We urge you to immediately release the young children you have unconscionably taken. Your actions have shocked Moslems across the world and have disrespected Islam and the teachings of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). "Your justification for stealing these children -- that education for girls goes against Islam -- has no basis whatsoever in our faith. The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) wisely emphasised that every Moslem man and woman has a duty to seek education. You have truly strayed from Islam when your actions betray its first command: "Iqra!" They insisted that by such act, the Boko Haram sect had strayed from the teachings of Islam, arguing "Your attempt to transform a central tenet of Islam into a vile lie used to kill and maim innocent Nigerians of all faiths is transparent. You treat children like cattle." They called on Shekau to "listen to the global chorus of voices that are enjoining you to do what is right: return these children to their families and replace the evil in your heart with peace and learning." |

| #2 Heart full of evil?? I thought that was the defining characteristic of Islam, no? Someone once told me that Islam was the devil's answer to Christianity. I don't think that the US Islamic clerics would agree. In fact kudos for writing the letter. My beef with American Muslims has been their muted voice in condemning the death eaters acting in their name. This letter was a good move. |
