Ethiopian military convoy raided in Bakool |

According to news reports from the Bakool region, a convoy belonging to Ethiopian troops under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) was attacked as it was passing by Waajid town. After the attack, the Ethiopian soldiers fought with the armed fighters for hours, residents reported. Two battlewagons of the convoy were destroyed although fatalities to the soldiers are still unknown. The convoy was attacked as the troops were transferring to Waajid town in Bakool region after they withdrew from Baidoa in Bay region. Many towns in central and south Somalia have recently blockaded with skirmishes erupting between militias and government troops. |
