Woman of Lebanese Origin Held in Denmark over 'IS Fundraising' |
2014-09-04 |
[An Nahar] Copenhagen police on Wednesday raided four addresses with ties to a charity suspected of selling stickers to raise funds for the Islamic State. A 35-year-old stateless man born in Libya, a 30-year-old Danish woman of Lebanese origin and a 50-year old Danish woman were questioned over the sale of stickers that appeared to be a spoof on the yellow ribbons which are traditionally sold to support Danish soldiers stationed overseas. Two of them were tossed in the slammer Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! while "the second woman chose to come with (us) to an interrogation," deputy police inspector Jens Moeller Jensen said in a statement. Police were unable to find any stickers during the raids but confiscated money and "various written material" on collecting donations. "The stickers in question were colored black. The Danish flag was replaced with what appears to be the flag of the Islamic State, and the text 'Support our soldiers' was replaced with 'Support our ummah'," the Copenhagen police said. "Ummah" is an Arabic word often translated as "community" or "nation." |

#3 So...a self declared foreign state at war with this state has agents fundraising in said state. And they get a finger wagging? |

#2 I agree with officer Jensen, something very rotten going on there. |

#1 How come the Muslim press has no problem with a phrase like "Women of Lebanese Origin in Denmark" while our Western Press doubtless reports "Danish Terror Financers Busted" - aye, Ingrid, Sjolveg and Agnetha no doubt. |
