[ALLAFRICA] Nigeria is at war and there have continued to be fallen heroes on daily basis. It appears as if Nigeria easily forgets her heroes in the face of continuous casualties. Many of our gallant soldiers continue to lose their lives. Our heart goes to their families and comrades who they left behind. We hope that our government will begin to give these heroes a befitting honor. Fallen heroes should be buried like heroes who they are. Other countries do the same thing, no matter the rank of an American fallen hero, Barrack Obama, the president of United States of America with his wife, the defense secretary, and the veteran affairs secretary will be at the burial ground specially designated for falling soldiers, join others to give the last honor to the dead and show gratitude and compassion to the family which they left behind.Mitchell Obama, the wife of the president of United States of America will have a one on one meeting to console the widow and children of the falling heroes; assuring them that America is grateful for the sacrifice of their bread winner and that America will forever be grateful to the family for their sacrifice and promise that America will take care of them until they can take care of themselves. She will assure them that their basic needs will be met and the secretaries of Veteran affairs, Defense, and every agent relevant to the case will be at hand to give details to the family of the plan to help the family.
Veteran affairs office is a ministry of its own headed by a secretary (minister) and it ought to be a ministry of its own in Nigeria too headed by a minister. The ministry is responsible for the affairs of retired soldiers, maimed soldiers and their families It is important to mention that the responsibilities of veteran affair's ministry should among others include welfare and care of maimed soldiers and their family as well as welfare of retired soldiers.
