A new Wall Street Journal-NBC News poll shows that Republicans are overwhelmingly favored by Americans on sustaining a strong U.S. national defense.

On MSNBC's Morning Joe, show host Joe Scarborough said Obama's favorability has suffered "because he's been seen as dragging his feet on this crisis." Scarborough was referring to Obama's muddied response to ISIS, an Islamic terrorist network based in Syria and Iraq that has grabbed credit for beheading two American journalists.

"It's not just him, it's actually impacting the entire Democratic Party," Todd said. "He's on the precipice of doing Jimmy Carter-like damage to the Democratic brand on foreign policy."

Obama is scheduled to deliver a speech regarding ISIS on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.

#11  If we are talking such fantasy as Obumble resigning, then why not go all the way. Plugs gets President, Hill gets VP and job of being the Cavalry rescuing the presidency, and a big leg up for 16 - Hildabeeste gets to throw Teh Wun under the bus, blame GOP, and run as already being ready for the job as Veep.

#9  I agree John, a very small chance. If the dems lose the Senate, and it looks as though they may, there will be increased pressure by the DNC to hold the presidency at any cost. That 'any cost' just could be plugs.

#8  What Pappy said. Obama stepping down is wishful thinking (on my part) too but I don't think it will happen. The agenda would still be in place if he did step down.

#3  Wouldn't accomplish anything except remove the figurehead. The agenda would still be in place; so would the staff, the advisors, the political flag officers, the rest of the Democrat politico.

I see nothing left for him to do but resign and hand it off to.... "Gates of HELL!" Plugsmania. Gets he and FLOTUS out of town and solves the 2016 candidate support question. Plugs can grant him Presidential pardons for unspecified wrongdoing, what's not to like.
