**UPDATED** Yet Another U.S.-Backed Syrian Rebel Group Makes Peace with ISIS
2014-09-15
[PJ Media] Champ's hope to do anything of substance in Syria took another severe blow yesterday as the U.S.-backed and armed Syrian Revolutionaries Front (SRF) struck a peace deal with ISIS, according to both Arabic and English language news reports.

The SRF had only a few months ago been deemed by the U.S. foreign policy establishment as "the West's best fighting chance against Syria's Islamist armies."
Better plan on stopping soon. Our gauge is broken, and I know we're running low on moderates.
For some reason America doesn't look like the strong horse these days -- I can't imagine why. Still, now no one need wonder when or whether they'll go over.

#12  Gee... doesn't it seem like every horse the State Department has backed has been a loser?

You know...I think every one of their public international projects has failed. Does Hugo Chavez's hand-picked successor being still in power count?

Perhaps we need to find out which projects they still consider a success and concentrate there.

#11  I'm beginning to suspect these Arab fellows of being less than reliable.

#7  More than fear is the desire to follow in Mohammed' s sanguine footsteps.

#6  Fear is a prime factor in all this.
If you were operating in this area, you would try and make peace with ISIS too, sorry to say.

The US needs to land a couple of divisions of crack front line troops and fight ISIS WWII style using planes and drones to the fullest.
I believe ISIS could be wiped out in a few weeks and champ would be a world wide hero.

But for some reason...

#5  Are you telling me that the good ship Quest (for moderate Muslims) run aground again?

#4  If only we had supported my moderates, none of this would be happening.

#3  Very shady, it would be better if the US offered weapons in exchange for ISIS members heads.

#2  Wait, this is a good thing. Obama, bringer of Light and Peace, has gotten 2 groups of armed crazies to stop fighting with each other. I swoon with admiration for His diplomatic skills.

#1  Taking sides in these Arab wars is ill advised to say the least. It doesn't matter whether it's Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, etc.

You just become a lightning rod for Arab - it's all somebody else's fault - mentality.

Arming the Kurds I agree with BTW.
