| Woman killed, 13 Injured in Khost IED Blast |

| [Tolo News] A woman was killed and 13 other civilians were maimed as a result of a roadside kabooming in eastern Khost province ... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name... on Tuesday, local officials confirmed. Khost Police Chief, Faizullah Ghairat, said that the incident took place at about 7 a.m. in Bak district when a civilian vehicle struck a roadside kaboom. "The victims have been taken to a nearby hospital," Ghairat said. "Some of the injured are at death's door." So far, no group including the Taliban has grabbed credit for the blast. The improvised bomb (IEDs) are said to be placed by the forces of Evil at roadsides to target security forces and government officials, but mostly civilians have been the victim of these bombings. |
