[IsraelTimes] An armed Paleostinian man was detained at a checkpoint in the West Bank Monday morning after attempting to stab an IDF soldier, the army said in a statement.
The foiled attack came during a period of tensions between Israelis and Paleostinians and a wave of unrest in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem. On Sunday, two Paleostinians with knives were detained by the army near the West Bank settlement of Adam, north of Jerusalem. In a separate incident Sunday, Paleostinians hurling rocks at cars in the West Bank lightly injured a 4-year-old Israeli boy. The army said that incident took place at an intersection near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, south of Jerusalem. The boy, who was struck in the head by shards of glass from the shattered window of the car he was in, was taken to a clinic in the nearby settlement of Efrat, Israel Radio reported. | |
