| 30 suspects held in fresh search operation |

[DAWN] Police on Sunday launched a search operation in different parts of the city and tossed in the slammerMaw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! 30 suspects. The Lahore police have been on high alert in the wake of executions of terrorism convicts in Punjab. The top hierarchy of the Punjab Police had been directed by the federal government to intensify patrolling and launch search operations throughout the province to deter suspected activities. "We have taken some 30 suspects into custody from Green Town for not having identification papers. Most of them are Afghans," Green Town Station House Officer Muhammad Sharif told Dawn. "The operation is underway and the suspects are being interrogated," he added. |
