2014-12-24 |
A team of soldiers and provincial police laid siege to a house at the edge of Bongo village around midnight on information that Arong Duramae and other rebels were hiding there. Arong, who is on police file as a bomb maker, was one of the six insurgents who broke out of jail in Muang district of Narathiwat on Jan 13, 2011. As police and soldiers approached the house, about eight or nine men hiding inside opened fire. The gunfire exchange lasted for about 20 minutes. After the battle, authorities found the body of a rebel with a pistol in his hand. He was later identified as Furdin Yoso, wanted for gunning down a policeman in Rangae district on Oct 11, 2012. |
