EU opposes Pak lifting of moratorium on executions
2014-12-25
ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: European Union on Wednesday showed aversion to Pakistan’s decision to lift the moratorium on executions.
"Quick, Ethel, my pills!"
In a statement, the EU delegation to Pakistan said, “The EU stands by the side of Pakistan and shares its grief after the horrific attack against a school in Peshawar. ... However, we believe the death penalty is not an effective tool in the fight against terrorism, it added. Moreover, the EU team regretted the decision of government of Pakistan to lift the moratorium on executions, which had been in place since 2008.

Meanwhile, the US has termed lifting of moratorium on executions as an internal matter of Pakistan.

#1  If the Left were stupid or insane, they would sometimes, by sheer statistical random chance, sometimes voice real outrage over a real injustice, or dismiss as unreal a complaint that actually was, for once, unreal.
