President Obama says US doing everything to rescue woman held by IS group
2015-02-03
[Ynet] President Barack Obama
Because I won...
on Sunday said the US is doing everything in its power to rescue a 26-year-old woman held by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, speaking in a wide-ranging interview also covering politics and a measles outbreak.

Obama's comments to NBC came a day after a Japanese journalist held by the snuffies was purportedly beheaded.

Obama said he has watched videos of hostages being beheaded. "Every morning I get a presidential daily briefing, and it gives me a pretty clear sense of the terrible stuff that's happening. And it's part of the reason why we have to be so vigilant and so aggressive in going after a vicious organization like ISIL," Obama said, using an acronym for the Islamic State group.
Well, I'm impressed.

#6   our citizen is, sorrowfully enough, toast.

There's no indication in the article as quoted above to indicate that the woman is an American... and this is the first I've noticed about a young, female hostage -- though to be fair I don't pay close attention to President Obama's public appearances.
