| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] Dozens of Taliban gunnies launched an attack on government compounds Sunday night in the city of Shindand District of western Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... Province. Reports indicate that shootout is ongoing between Taliban and security forces in the city. Officials have told news hounds that additional security forces were on their way to help in the fight. |
