Any word from Pravda?

#8  I remain not worried about a US-Russia = Obama-Putin war.

Putin's actions are geared toward preempting or preventing any Islamist or Hard Boy destabilization of the Caucasus + Turkey + Slavic Europe, + espec keeping Russian BFF + strategic partner Germany controlled + widout Nukes.

IMO one can make a good argument that Putin is treating post-Crimea Ukraine as "GERMANY WIDOUT THE GERMANS/PRUSSIANS". In Putin's mind, the Hard Boy threat is IMMEDIATE, whilst the threat ofa RE-ARMED, RE-MILITARIZED, GEOPOL-AGGRESSIVE NUKE-ARMED GERMANY is FUTURIST.

IMO again Vlad covertly wants a NATO-EU military buildup along its borders + NATO-EU involvement wid Kiev, as a NATO-EU BUILDUP, ETC. = RUSSIAN COUNTER-BUILDUP = GERMANY "STATUS QUO", NO NEO-OTTOMAN TURKEY, + NO [major] ISLAMIST MILTERR THREAT TO RUSSIA OR -STANS.

Methinks Vlad recognizes that a major or dedicated Hard Boy MilTerr campaign agz Russia, or even agz China + India, throws a world-destabilizing monkeywrench into everything.

#5  I believe they will come to an agreement in Minsk. The conflict is starting to seriously hurt Moscow economically and the dreams of a "New Russia" between Odessa and Lugansk have vanished. Only massive regular Russian troops would be able to conquer this stretch of land, but Russia would pay with bankrupcy and the oligarchs will not allow that.

It's all about saving face now.

#4  In the past the great powers didn't screw around inside each others sphere of influence. Seems to me fairly solid common sense.

I'm all for Freedom and yeah Free Ukraine and all that, but this just seems really stupid and provocative to me.
