Seminaries oppose govt move to ban foreign students |
2015-02-16 |
[DAWN] The expected move by the government to streamline and restrict the admission of foreign students to religious seminaries has not gone well with the board of religious seminaries belonging to the Deobandi sect. Comes as a surprise, huh? Floored me, too. While Wafaqul Madaris al Arabia has expressed concern ...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended... s over the proposal to ban the admissions of foreign students in seminaries, the madressah boards belonging to the Barelvi and Shia sects demanded the government carry out strict regulations in this regard. |
