#4 During the Iraq war, there were very few soldiers or Marines captured. I'm pretty sure that this sort thing was going on there as well. |

#1 In those dark days right after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor, my air force uncle found himself guarding a foxhole with his buddy, since their entire squadron's planes had been destroyed on the ground. They had been reading the newspapers for years & knew of the Empire's treatment of prisoners. Between the two of them, they each agreed to save a bullet for the other guy, if it came to that. |
