Ted Cruz just compared Obama to Richard Nixon
2015-02-24
"We've had presidents in the past who have abused power. But when that has happened: When Richard Nixon abused power, Republican senators stood up to him and said, 'Mr. President, you've gone too far.' In fact, it was Republican senators who went to the Oval Office, ... and said, 'Mr. President, it's time for you to resign,'" Cruz recalled. 'What is strikingly missing are Democratic senators who have more commitment to the Constitution and rule of law than they do to their party.'"
No, I would not have voted for that fellow either.

#12  He's jsut saying what a lot of us have been thinking all a long - thin skinned, enemies list, vindictive ...

#11  Nixon seemed to understand world politics a bit better than champ. He was given a bad war to deal with and got us out with a strong South Vietnam capable of defending itself with minimal support (mostly financial). Of course the Dem congress screwed that up but that's not on Nixon.

Obama inherited a war that was winding down nicely and basically pulled the carpet out from everyone and let the whole place fall apart while blaming Bush. Sort of pathetic.

#10  Nixon was a statist. One of more socialist Presidents after WW2.

#7  Nixon loved his country. There is no comparison.

#6  #4 Comparing Obama to Nixon is an insult to Nixon.

IMO that the comparison ought to be more statist like Stalin or Hitler. Were this not the USA, he probably would give way to his more tyrannical impulses.

#5  Those where Republicans. Today, you have RINOs who are basically Nixonian era Democrats who've been forced out of their party by the socialists. We don't call it the Beltway Party for nothing these days.

#4  Comparing Obama to Nixon is an insult to Nixon.

RMN was a paragon of virtue compared to the power-mad, narcissistic tyrant who currently occupies the White House.

#3  Let's remember that in 1960 Nixon decided not to challenge Kennedy's blatant electoral rigging in order due to the damage it would have done to America and the comfort it would have given to its ennemies. So while he was not without hios sahedes of grey and even of black at the depth Nixon was a aptriot and a realtiavley hponorable man. I doubt this can be said from Obama

#2  Dick Nixon, before he dicks you!

#1  It's true. It was Republicans that told Tricky Dick to resign.

Of course I bet Nixon is rolling in his grave. What Nixon did was parlor games compared to the blatant corruption of this administration and its wholesale play for pay schemes.
