Al Roker: Extreme Weather This Winter Made Possible By Climate Change
2015-02-26
[REALCLEARPOLITICS] Larry King Live: "In an in-depth interview with Larry in New York, America's most trusted weatherman says he thinks the extreme Winter weather in the northeast this season has been fueled by climate change."

#10  :) Indeed
I'm just ready for some Spring Training climate change.

And who names these winter storms? Quantum? So they throw a dictionary and pick a word from the open page and not look up the meaning?

And yeah, Roker is a TV C-list celebrity, whatever he was.

#9   I'm sure that statement is deeply meaningful to about 3/4ths of our readership, swksvolFF. To the rest of us, the weather is more interesting. ;-)

Wish the Royals had gone for home to tie the game rather than hoping for a hit from injured and excitable Salvy Perez vs. lights out Bumgarner. But hey, Jeremy Affeldt got his World Series win with the Royals. Don't blame trading Panda, he had a good series but his defense puts some strain on SS - I don't know how many times we yelled for a bunt @ 5 with that famous KC speed make him make the play...and he'll fit well as a bench hitter in the AL especially at Boston.

#6  I suspect about 3 years ago the modeling computations changed, new software or parameters, but multiple sources started getting it wrong outside of reasonable error.

I miss when rambling on about the weather was considered a dullard's conversation, and the dullards were polite enough to not ramble on.

#5  Not a meteorologist any more than Dan Rather is a journalist. He's a talking head.

#4   America's most trusted weatherman

Anyone who feels it appropriate to discuss on air how he shat his pants while passing gas at the White House, but only just a little, is not deserving of trust. Possibly he as an expert class meteorologist. Or, he fits in well with the Today team (or whatever they call themselves) and presents well, regardless who is doing the actual calculations. But it's clear his judgement is somewhat less than perfect and he's very keen on fitting in.

#2  We mock the media, but somehow it has convinced people standing in 6' of snow that this is the warmest year in recorded history.
