Obama's claim that Keystone XL oil €˜bypasses the U.S.' earns Four Pinocchios
2015-03-03
[Wapo] President Obama, seeking to explain his veto of a bill that would have leapfrogged the approval process for the Keystone XL pipeline, in an interview with a North Dakota station repeated some false claims that had previously earned him Pinocchios. Yet he managed to make his statement even more misleading than before, suggesting the pipeline would have no benefit for American producers at all.

#6  Is anyone sure he wasn’t born in Kenya?

No. But even if he wasn't it's pretty clear by now that he identifies with his Kenyan heritage more than the American side of his family tree.

#5  He just needs something that sounds kinda plausible and his press pukes will run with it and most of the population will remain willfully ignorant and allow him to rule however he wants.

#4  To him, the Midwest and Gulf States aren't America, but conquered provinces.

#2  Pinocchio-In-Chief is a chronic liar? Who would have known?

In psychiatry, pathological lying (also called compulsive lying, pseudologia fantastica and mythomania) is a behavior of habitual or compulsive lying. It was first described in the medical literature in 1891 by Anton Delbrueck.

“I’ve already said I’m happy to look at how we can increase pipeline production for U.S. oil, but Keystone is for Canadian oil to send that down to the Gulf. It bypasses the United States and is estimated to create a little over 250, maybe 300 permanent jobs. We should be focusing more broadly on American infrastructure for American jobs and American producers, and that’s something that we very much support.”
Lie 1: I’m happy to look at how we can increase pipeline production for U.S. oil—his behavior belies this
Lie 2: It bypasses the United States—this idiot has no knowledge of U.S. geography or history. Is anyone sure he wasn’t born in Kenya?
Lie 3: is estimated to create a little over 250, maybe 300 permanent jobs—estimates have been reported of up to 40,000 construction jobs created. Perhaps the jobs are not permanent but that is no reason not to go ahead with Keystone. The nature of construction jobs is temporary. The building of the Interstate highway system created a large number of temporary jobs initially. This was good for the economy. Likewise, similar comment about the Alaskan pipeline. Jobs.
Lie 4: We should be focusing more broadly on American infrastructure for American jobs—so far there has been little focus on improving the U.S. infrastructure other than for a number of failed solar energy companies that were created via crony capitalism.
