| Zintan confirms loss of base to Libya Dawn |

| [Libya Herald] Zintan has conceded the loss of the camp at Um Shawisha south of Ajilat which Libya Dawn ...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar... announced it captured yesterday. However, a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth... a Zintani official claimed that LNA forces had pulled out of Um Shawisha before the Libya Dawn forces moved in, and did so to consolidate its forces at Wattiya airbase. The official did not explain why the LNA would need to do this if the base were already adequately protected. There were claims today from Libya Dawn media that its forces were closing in on Wattiya, and that they had shot down a helicopter taking off from the base. |
