White House: Israel's '50-year occupation' must end now
2015-03-24
[Iran Press TV] The White House has called on Israel to end its "50-year occupation" of the West Bank and East al-Quds (Jerusalem), criticizing Tel Aviv over its continued settlement activities in the occupied Paleostinian territories.

In a speech to an American Jewish advocacy group in Washington on Monday, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said, "An occupation that has lasted for almost 50 years must end, and the Paleostinian people must have the right to live in and govern themselves in their own sovereign state."

"Israel cannot maintain military control of another people indefinitely, that's the truth," McDonough said at the final event of J Street's 2015 conference, a three-day gathering of American Jewish students, activists and lobbyists.

"Paleostinian children deserve the same right to be free in their own land as Israeli children in their land," he said. "A two-state solution will finally bring Israelis the security and normality to which they are entitled, and Paleostinians the illusory sovereignty and dignity they deserve."

In a war in 1967, Israel captured the West Bank and East al-Quds. Since then, Tel Aviv has continued to expand its illegal settlements there. The issue has become a major obstacle for the efforts to establish peace in the Middle East.

The UN and most countries regard the Israeli settlements as illegal. The settlements are subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbids construction on occupied lands.

#20   The issue has become a major obstacle for the efforts to establish peace in the Middle East.

A lie.

The mere existence of the Jewish state, and any Jews, is the obstacle to Middle East Peace. If only the Jews will meekly line up for the 'showers' and ovens there would then be peace in the Middle East.(1)

It's all Israel's fault for not doing so!

(/sarc!)
(1) or would be once they get rid of the Christians, Infidels, Homosexuals, athiests, etc...

#19  LOL. If Mexico balks at the California deal, sweeten the deal by throwing in a few more blue states.

#16  Didn't Arizona attempt to enforce the border and Chump / Holder sued them for it? Claiming it was a federal responsibility?

#15  Red states should get involved.

Israeli ex-border patrol experts should be contracted by red states to advise on keeping illegals out and end the illegals occupation of our country.

That would really tee off Obama.

#14  Just look what happened when Israel gave up 'occupation' of Gaza. They got nothing but more bombing in return.

Rewarding bad behavior guarantees even more bad behavior.

#13  Many Arabs of Palestine lived in Jordan until they got to causing so much trouble that they were kicked out by their Arab brethren. The whole Palestinian thing is a red herring. if one goes far back in time, the lands were Jewish lands. After 911, the Muslims thought they owned the areas where the planes hit the Towers. They wanted to build a "Victory Mosque" as most here will remember. My pooch pees on a fire hydrant and thinks it owns it too.

#12  Historically when one picks a fight and loses they resettle, they dont hunker down and expect those that they attacked to give them land back. At least not until a serious peace.

Why are Pals so different? Are they lacking space in Saudi Arabia to resettle the Arabs of palestine?

#11  Israeli's Spied on Obama/Iran "Closed Door" Nuclear Talks, Shared Info With US Congress Posted by Ebbomosh Hupemp2664

If you remember a few weeks back when the regime said "Bibi could not possibly know what was in the Iranian deal"...? Some here immediately dropped the flag.

Bibi came to Washington with a purpose. He knew the Congress didn't have the facts, and that is why the Champ became so butt hurt over the Bibi's trip. It had little to do with his address to Congress. It was the off-line briefing(s) that the Champ feared.

We have to a get lot of our news from foreign news outlets due to the sell-out of the MSM. Now the Congress has to depend upon foreign intelligence services to keep informed as well.

#10  BTW, it says something that Congress can only get info from a foreign government and not directly from the executive branch. I believe the word is ... contempt.

Paleos going to give up their arms, oust Hamas, quit targeting Israel with rockets, and give up committing terrorist acts? I didn't think so.

In the meantime, "O" and his Muslim-loving regime can throw a tantrum, stick their thumbs in their mouths, and hold their breath until they turn blue.

And, irregardless of whether Israel formally joins NATO + EU, etc. or not???

AGAIN, 'TIS ARE SIMPLE OR BASIC QUESTION(S), BUT ALWAYS A BIGGIE.
