UN plans investigation of human rights abuses in Libya

A resolution on helping improve human rights in Libya, submitted to the 28th Regular Session of the Council in Geneva which ended today, Friday , called on the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, to send a team to investigate human rights abuses since the beginning of 2014 "with a view to avoiding impunity and ensuring full accountability". Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) should help the investigation and that a report be submitted to council at its thirty-first session.

This is expected to take place in March 2016.
