| 17 Killed, 37 Injured As Suicide Bomber Attacks Protesters In Khost |

| [Tolo News] A deadly suicide kaboom in eastern Khost province ... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name... has claimed 17 lives where 37 others sustained injuries, according to a statement by the interior ministry. The incident took place around 9:30 am Thursday when a jacket wallah went kaboom!near the protesters who had staged a rally against the acting governor, accusing him of corruption and land usurpation. The MP Hamayoun Hamayoun, head of Parliamentary defense committee, was also injured in the attack, the statement added. Sources close to Hamayoun told TOLOnews that the driver, guards and secretary of Hamayoun were also among those killed. However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... the Khost Police Chief initially said that the number of injured had reached to 50. The victims have been taken to the hospitals while the area has been cordoned off by the security forces. The Taliban, in a statement, have denied links to the attack. |
