Twin blasts injure more than a dozen at Jolo police mosque |
2015-05-30 |
[Philippine Star] Philippine security forces launched a massive search for the bombers that on Friday night set off two bombs near a mosque in a police camp in Jolo town in Sulu. More than a dozen people were wounded, including four grade school children. Reports indicate that the first victim in the initial blast was a wife of a policeman, who sustained shrapnel wounds when a still unidentified bomber hurled a fragmentation grenade near a mosque at one side of Camp Asturias, the command center of the Sulu provincial police, near downtown Jolo. A more powerful improvised explosive device, planted just several meters away from where the grenade went off, exploded just as responding policemen were trying to cordon the scene for investigation. |
